Description
The traditional Forez verbena liqueur from the Forissier estate is prepared in the dark, in direct contact with the alcohol. The aromas remain intact as the liqueur is not distilled. The traditional production process makes this an authentic product that is sensitive to light. The natural colour develops a patina over time. Best consumed within a year to enjoy the citrus aromas; prolonged storage softens the sharp lemon nose, giving way to more pronounced verbena notes. No colourings. Liqueur made from organically grown verbena FR-BIO-15.
Tasting
A slightly thick, velvety texture, dark green in colour; the colour develops green hues with golden highlights, then takes on cereal tones after 18 months. The nose is characterised by great aromatic finesse, with vegetal and lemony notes from the plant, without being overly alcoholic. The palate is both rich and aromatic. Slightly lemony and tangy, perfectly balanced with a touch of sugar. The finish is subtle and distinctive.

Verveine du Forez liqueur is usually enjoyed at the end of a family dinner or shared with friends for a convivial and festive moment. A cousin of Verveine du Velay, Verveine du Forez also originates from the Rhône-Alpes Auvergne region. The Forez soils, rich in trace elements, nurture the verbena plants, imparting fresh and powerful aromas. The traditional recipe is simple and unadorned, allowing the verbena to express itself in all its splendour. A liqueur free from artificial flavourings and colourings.
Storage
Serve chilled but not ice-cold. Store away from light. Shake before serving. The Tradition cuvée is rich and tangy in the year following its vintage. Extended storage will cause its aroma to evolve towards less lemongrass and more herbal notes. Containing no colourings or sulphites, the colour of the liqueur changes over time to a khaki green and then yellow. This is a natural process in a product containing no preservatives. A natural haze or sediment may be present in suspension or at the bottom of the bottle. This is a normal process linked to the presence of verbena.
