Description
This Vézelay La Châtelaine from La Soeur Cadette boasts a lovely pale colour with golden highlights. The nose is ripe and highly aromatic, with notes of white fruit and citrus (candied lemon). A hint of acacia. The attack is lively, even incisive, with vibrant fruit, followed by a ripe, mouth-watering mid-palate. Perfectly balanced between minerality and impressive body. The long, very slightly salty finish adds a further touch of elegance.
In the vineyard, in the cellar
La Châtelaine is a cuvée produced exclusively from vines situated on the southern slope of the Vézelay hill. The very shallow, stony soils, which are fairly low in clay, yield small harvests of very ripe grapes. Vinification: 80% in vats and 20% in barrels.
