Description
The Bordeaux Vintage from La Tuilerie du Puy boasts a deep, intense garnet-red colour. It offers great aromatic complexity, dominated by spices and hints of violet against a backdrop of candied raspberries. The clay-limestone soils have produced beautifully ripe grapes, yet the attack remains lively and the wine’s overall profile is finely crafted. On the palate, it combines richness with structure; the tannic power does not detract from the wine’s balance.
In the vineyard, in the cellar
- Terroir: Clay-limestone soil over a rocky subsoil.
- Grape varieties: Malbec: 80% – Petit Verdot: 20%
- Yield: 45 hl/ha
- The vines: Average age of the plots: 5 years (trained using the single Guyot method – Density: 4,545 vines/hectare
- Vinification: The grapes are destemmed and sorted. They are then vatted for 4 to 6 weeks to allow for
slow extraction, ensuring the perfect expression of our terroir. Each plot is identified and vinified in
separate temperature-controlled stainless steel vats to refine and enhance the future blends. - Ageing: The wine, racked regularly throughout its ageing, matures for 12 months in 225- and 400-litre French oak
barrels.
