Le Vin Vogueur
Vin de Tunisie
Miski Razzegui 2023

21.00

"Alexandre Morin's Tunisian wine (Le Vin Vogueur) is a blend of Miski (Muscat of Alexandria) and Razeggui: a vibrant natural white wine! The nose is a captivating bouquet with an oriental flair. It is both floral (rose, jasmine) and fruity (nectarine, white peach, orange blossom), with developing notes of white pepper, cactus and aloe vera. The attack is lively and slightly sparkling, the body delicate, and the finish particularly briny, almost iodine-like. A lovely bottle for an aperitif, to enjoy with some sushi or a handful of asparagus."

The Vin Vogueur Miski Razzegui cuvée in detail:

  • Location: The plot is situated 2 kilometres west of Kelibia on a hillside divided into two exposures: north-east facing the sea and south-west in a cool enclave.
It is a plot highly exposed to the wind and constantly swept by sea spray.
  • Soils: Limestone bedrock and clay-limestone soils, becoming loamier closer to the surface. On the surface, the soils have a light texture with plenty of stony sandstone.
  • Training: The fifty-year-old Muscat vines are pruned very low to improve wind resistance. No irrigation or synthetic inputs; soil fertilisation using organic manure; low yields and harvesting at just the right ripeness.
  • Grape variety: Muscat de Kelibia was introduced in the 1930s by Sicilian winegrowers. This Muscat, known as ‘Alexandrian’, was then planted in several areas of the Cap Bon peninsula, now defined by the ‘Muscat de Kelibia’ AOC. Over the decades, this single-varietal wine, now indigenous to the region, has become perfectly acclimatised to a “semi-Breton” Mediterranean environment!
