Les Grandes Costes
Pic Saint Loup
La Sarabande 2023

21.00

"La Sarabande is the soul of the Les Grandes Costes estate. A blend of all the vineyard’s plots, this remarkable cuvée reveals a sensual wine. It possesses an intimate grace with a playful character, full of nuance. To limit oneself to an organoleptic analysis of this wine would be to miss the point. Admittedly, the colour shimmers with ruby highlights. Admittedly, the nose beautifully evokes blackcurrants, spices and violets. Admittedly, the palate is balanced, round, dense and beautifully textured, finishing with a lingering, indulgent aftertaste… But the Sarabande is perhaps, above all, like that classical dance: solemn, slow, with an intimate grace, full of wit… And it can also reveal itself to be lively, sensual and full of unbridled playfulness. A must-try!"

In the vineyard, in the cellar

Domaine Les Grandes Costes covers approximately 19 hectares. The vines, aged between 4 and 45 years, are planted with four typically Mediterranean red grape varieties: Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault and Carignan. Pest control is carried out in accordance with the principles of sustainable agriculture to better respect the soil and the environment. All the vines are debudded, suckered, leaf-thinned and green-harvested where necessary. This is done to ensure healthy grapes of excellent ripeness, which guarantee the wine’s quality, aromatic profile and balance. Overall, yields vary between 22 and 33 hectolitres per hectare depending on the plot.
