Description
Marc Delienne’s La Jacarde is an exceptional white Beaujolais, limited to one bottle per order. It is rare to find such energy in a Beaujolais Chardonnay: freshness and liveliness carry the wine from start to finish. The aromatic complexity (citrus, apples, honeyed notes, hazelnut) coexists with a distinct stony minerality. A refreshing delight, perfect with pike quenelles or sliced andouillette in white wine. Magnificent!

Beaujolais white wines are increasingly sought after
Beaujolais white wines account for just 2% of the region’s total wine production. These wines are made from the Chardonnay grape variety, which thrives in the far north of the vineyard and the south-west of Villefranche-sur-Saône. They appeal to wine lovers with their flattering aromatic profile (
white-fleshed fruits, citrus, floral notes), and a rather pleasant fullness and softness. They often lack the tension and liveliness of their Burgundian neighbours. A few rare winemakers, however, manage to bring out their minerality to the full, such as Marc Delienne and his La Jacarde cuvée, with its breathtaking intensity.
