Description
Nicolas Maillet offers a remarkable interpretation of the vintage with his light, silky and caressing red Mâcon! … It is a blend of Gamay and 50-year-old Pinot Noir from an east-facing plot. The grapes are vinified using carbonic maceration. The ruby colour is luminous. The nose develops intense aromas of wild strawberries, raspberries and subtle spicy notes. After a supple attack, the palate displays lovely liveliness and the fruity aromas resurface, carried by discreet, well-integrated tannins. A fine success!
In the vineyard, in the cellar
The vineyard is managed using organic farming methods (AB certification monitored by Ecocert) and biodynamic practices (Demeter certification). Particular attention is paid to soil management, with the elimination of chemical herbicides and regular ploughing throughout the year to encourage deep root development in the vines. This also helps maintain significant microbial activity within the soil. The grapes are harvested by hand using small crates, ensuring the utmost care is taken to preserve the integrity of the grapes.
