La Tuilerie du Puy

Château La Tuilerie du Puy is a family-run estate nestled peacefully in the Dropt Valley, in the heart of the Entre-Deux-Mers region. At the helm since 1996, Michael Regaud humbly crafts wines that tell a story and delight the palate with crisp fruitiness, a rich, indulgent mouthfeel and a lively structure. Welcome to the world of “Bordeaux Plaisir”!

A family tradition since 1616

Owned by the same family since 1616, it was not until the 20th century that La Tuilerie du Puy began to focus on wine production. For three generations, the Regaud family has been producing and bottling its own wines, which have built the estate’s reputation.

Since 1979, Jean-Pierre Regaud has been continuing his father’s work after spending a few years overseas. He took over the reins of the estate. He immediately set about an ambitious project: to equip the Château with a modern winemaking facility. It was fully fitted with stainless steel vats and the latest innovations of the time, including temperature control. From this winery would emerge fine, powerful wines. Wines with great ageing potential which, over the years and through the medals they have won, would help build the reputation that Château la Tuilerie du Puy enjoys today.

In the mid-1980s, Jean-Pierre Regaud began experimenting with the fermentation of white wines in oak barrels. Initially, production was on a small scale. He devoted nearly ten years to research, hard work and constant fine-tuning … until his white wines achieved the perfect balance between aromatic intensity, finesse and drinking pleasure. It was not until 1995, therefore, that he agreed to present his first vintage to the general public.

The next generation took up the torch in 1996 with Michael Regaud. He shared the same passion for wine, the same love of travel, and the pioneering spirit that has always characterised the family. Having produced wines in California, Michael brought his international experience to the family estate. He enriched it with his technical expertise. His key priorities: the meticulous selection of oak from around the world and constantly refined winemaking and ageing techniques.
