Domaine Alloïs, biodynamic wines from the Ventoux region

History of the Alloïs Estate

The history of Domaine Alloïs is closely linked to that of the Busi family, whose vision and dedication have shaped this unique estate in the heart of the Luberon. For three generations now, this family has worked with selfless dedication and boldness to create an estate that reflects the authenticity and richness of its terroir.

It all began with a desire to preserve an exceptional site nestled amongst the hills of the Luberon. Through hard work and a deep connection with the land, the Busi family has transformed this landscape into a renowned wine estate. Their philosophy is rooted in respect for the terroir and organic farming, allowing the vines to flourish naturally and produce wines of exceptional quality

François Busi, representing the third generation, has breathed new life into the Alloïs estate, blending tradition with modernity. Under his leadership, the estate has gained recognition whilst remaining true to its founding values: respect for nature, meticulous vineyard management, and the preservation of a unique wine-growing heritage.

An exceptional terroir

Nestled at the foot of Mont Ventoux, Domaine Alloïs spans several hectares of vineyards bathed in a Mediterranean climate, where the varied soils lend a unique richness to the grape varieties grown (Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, etc.). Each plot is tended with great care to authentically express the terroir’s distinctive character.

With a remarkable diversity of soils, ranging from calcareous clay to sand, gravel and silt, the Ventoux terroir offers a unique richness. This mosaic of soils allows the grape varieties to express themselves in varied and contrasting ways, giving rise to wines with distinct styles and characters that reflect this exceptional landscape.

Sustainable, organic and biodynamic farming at the Alloïs estate

Since its inception, Domaine Alloïs has cultivated its vineyards with a firm conviction: to respect the land and produce wines in harmony with nature. The estate is certified organic and holds Demeter certification for our biodynamic practices, ensuring healthy grapes and a preserved terroir.

Biodynamics, a demanding and holistic approach, goes beyond organic standards. It is based on the use of natural preparations, respect for lunar and solar cycles, and a particular focus on the balance between the soil, the vines and their environment. This method allows us to fully express the richness and uniqueness of the terroir.
