Description
Château de Mérande Apremont 1948 is a dry, taut wine characterised by lovely freshness and an invigorating finish. The nose reveals notes of white-fleshed orchard fruits and English sweets, as well as hints of verbena and other medicinal herbs. This lovely fruity structure is nonetheless crisp and finishes with a salty note and citrus flavours.
Origin of the cuvée
The name of this cuvée recalls the disaster of the night of 24–25 November 1248. A massive rockslide buried part of the Chambéry gorge and the Grésivaudan valley, revealing the highest cliff in France, rising to over 900 metres. Château de Mérande Apremont 1948 comes from a vineyard planted on the scree in 1919.
