, with no harshness. It is elegant, approachable and full of flavour. The deep ruby colour with violet hues is sublime. The nose reveals notes of black cherries and crisp blackberries, alongside aromas of undergrowth and mushrooms. The full-bodied, silky palate offers a complexity and depth that commands respect. It promises immense ageing potential.
In the vineyard, in the cellar
The 2017 Barthélemy cuvée from Château Le Puy comes from a plot with unique geology known as ‘Les Rocs’, planted with 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine is produced using a natural vinification method known as infusion. Ageing takes place for at least two years in seasoned barrels, using a method of dynamisation in accordance with the phases of the moon, without the addition of sulphur dioxide or other additives. It is bottled unfiltered.
