Description
The Arretxea estate’s Irouleguy Haitza (‘oak’ in Basque) cuvée is made from Tannat (90%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (10%). The nose is particularly expressive, with aromas of ripe black fruits (blackberries, black cherries) and animal and spicy notes (cloves). The attack is clean, the tannic structure well-balanced, the texture moderate, the body dense and the length impeccable, with a finish marked by a delicate bitterness that refreshes the whole. A great wine that requires a few years’ cellaring.
