Description
The Orthogneiss cuvée from Domaine de l'Ecu is a well-rounded wine, a magnificent example of Muscadet that would benefit from a little more time on the bottle. The aromatic subtlety (citrus, iodine, almond), the briny freshness, the mineral liveliness, the body, the finesse, the length: it has it all! … Bring on the lobster, a Thai-style fish curry or some hot oysters.
Tasting
Colour: Crystal-clear white gold. Nose: Subtle and elegant, with exotic fruits and citrus, notes of white flowers, spices, cumin, dried fruit, toasted almond, and mineral and iodine notes. The attack is supple, the palate complex and taut with impressive volume. An imposing, mouth-watering finish with pink grapefruit and almond kernel, pronounced salty notes.
