Description
Domaine Milan’s Haru Blanc is a true ode to spring, as its name suggests in Japanese. A blend of Chardonnay, White Grenache, Chenin and Savagnin, this wine shines with its aromatic character, lightness, structure and harmony. On the nose and on the palate, one finds white peach, orange blossom and lovely floral notes. The palate is indulgent, joyful, simple and festive: the very essence of Théophile Milan’s winemaking. Japanese tempura or fried squid would pair perfectly with it as an aperitif.
In the vineyard, in the cellar
The Milan estate’s Haru Blanc cuvée in detail:
- Grape varieties: Chardonnay, Savagnin, Chenin and Grenache Blanc, planted in 2020 (1,000 vines of each variety on the same plot)
- Soils: clay-limestone with blue marl subsoils
- Harvest: hand-picked
- Vinification: direct pressing, fermentation and ageing in concrete vats. Unfined and unfiltered.
The estate
Domaine Milan stands apart in the wine world: a UFO (Unidentified Winemaker Origin). For Henri, who established the estate’s reputation, winemaking is not a matter of technique. It is more about naturally supporting what the vines offer, through organic and biodynamic methods. His son Théophile now continues the adventure, preserving the estate’s style and sensibility. The result is original, complex wines, each reflecting its terroir. A harmony whose finesse and texture often evoke Burgundy… but in Provence.
