Description
After a hiatus of more than 10 years, the Le Clos cuvée, from the legendary plot at Domaine Milan, was revived in 2020 under Théophile’s leadership. It is a blend dominated by Grenache and Syrah, sourced from vines around forty years old, with some replanted vines. Le Clos Milan is a wine with a distinctly Provençal character: authentic, rich, juicy, built for ageing yet remarkably easy to drink. Depending on the vintage, the nose offers a complex, enchanting bouquet of black fruits (blackcurrant), tapenade, gingerbread, hints of garrigue and a touch of balsamic. Velvety and silky on the palate, it carries its tannic structure admirably: a fine, delicate earthy dimension, with a slightly smoky finish. A fine cut of matured beef or a traditional Provençal stew will pair with it perfectly.

The Milan Estate
The Henri Milan estate is a unique entity in the wine world: an OVNI (Unidentified Winemaker Origin). For Henri, who established the estate’s reputation, winemaking is not a matter of technique. It is more about naturally supporting what the vines offer, using organic and biodynamic methods. His son Théophile now continues the adventure, preserving the estate’s style and sensibility. The result is original, complex wines, each reflecting its terroir. A harmony whose finesse and texture often evoke Burgundy… but in Provence.
