Description
Flavia’s 2020 Etna Bianco comes from a 3-hectare plot planted entirely with Carricante, located north of Mount Etna. The volcanic soils of the mountain, at an altitude of 700 metres, make this wine a paragon of freshness and minerality.
The bouquet combines citrus notes (grapefruit) with floral notes (acacia) and mineral notes with a hint of aniseed.
On the palate, it remains fresh and taut, elegant, with a lingering minerality. Ideal with shellfish, raw or smoked fish, and above all for discovering an appellation with a unique character. Available exclusively in 1-litre bottles.
A volcano, a wine
Etna is a volcano located in the north of the province of Catania. It is surrounded by the Ionian Sea to the east, the city of Catania and its plain to the south, and the Nebrodi Mountains to the west and north.
Etna is a mountain rising to an altitude of 3,330 metres and covering an area of 1,200 km². This makes it the highest volcano in Europe and the largest mountain in Italy. During the 20th century, its height frequently varied by around 100 metres due to lava and mud flows.
Etna’s high altitude creates a relatively humid microclimate that contrasts with the Mediterranean climate prevailing at its base. This allows for fertile agriculture, enriched by volcanic soils, as well as the presence of a ski resort. The latter operated (having been largely destroyed by the 2003 eruption) thanks to winter snowfall.
The volcano imbues this Sicilian wine, Bio Nature

with all the natural and earthy power of this unusual and unique terroir.
