Le Devens 2022

"Le Devens is a 100% Syrah Ventoux cuvée from Hélène Bleuzen. The intense nose reveals aromas of black fruits (cherry, wild blackberry), a hint of violet, scents of garrigue and a touch of eucalyptus (menthol). Once aerated, hints of development emerge, ranging from undergrowth to smoky notes. The whole is extremely harmonious; the wine’s density is perfectly balanced, leaving a wonderfully light sensation for a southern wine. It is ready to drink now but will benefit from a few years’ ageing for even greater enjoyment. Pair it with a seven-hour leg of lamb and you’ll be delighted."

Ventoux appellation

Mont Ventoux, standing at 1,910 metres, is home to this unique vineyard. It is at the foot of Mont Ventoux that a large part of the AOP

Ventoux’s vineyard terraces thrive.

The appellation covers three production areas characterised by a wide variety of terroirs, giving the wine its distinctive qualities and character:

  • The Carpentras plain, the heart of the appellation
  • The Malaucène basin between Mont Ventoux and the Dentelles de Montmirail massif
  • The Vaucluse hills, extending from Mont Ventoux, separate the Carpentras basin from the southern part of the appellation, where the vineyards are more scattered.
