Description
Greta Carbo is a stunning Fleurie, but above all a well-rounded wine, bearing Marc Delienne’s signature. The aromatic harmony is already evident despite its youth; the attack is caressing, the texture silky, the balance impeccable… and what finesse!
In the vineyard, in the cellar
The vines for Greta Carbo come from plots situated in the south-east of the Fleurie vineyard. The soils are silty-sandy, derived from primary rock (granite) or ancient alluvial deposits, at a shallow depth. The vines, over 60 years old and planted with Gamay Noir, are planted at a density of around 11,000 vines per hectare and pruned in the goblet style. The vines are trained quite high. The soils are worked. Harvested by hand into small crates, sorted in the cellar. The grapes are cooled in a cold room to 5°C, then gently transferred to vats. The concrete vat, saturated with carbon dioxide, is sealed and maintained at 8°C. The juices are drawn off daily. Pressing takes place after three weeks, with fermentation completed in stainless steel vats. Aged for four months in five-year-old barrels, starting immediately after alcoholic fermentation.
