Description
Delicate and complex, this Côte Roannaise La Chapelle from Domaine des Pothiers is a fresh and refined expression of Gamay Saint Romain. It feels as though you’re biting into a bunch of fresh grapes. The flavourful, full-bodied palate, combined with already ripe and well-integrated tannins, makes for a truly seductive wine.

Romain Paire in the Guide to the Best Wines of France

“Close to the source of the Loire, the Côte Roannaise appellation stretches across the foothills of the Massif Central, at an altitude of between 400 and 500 metres. This little-known vineyard is planted on sandy soils of granitic origin. The local red grape variety is Gamay Saint-Romain, a variant of Gamay found only here. […] La Chapelle stands out with greater freshness: a rich, full-bodied expression of Gamay Saint-Romain.”
