Description
Dansons sur la rive replaces Le blanc de La Dournie for the 2023 vintage. This is a cheerful and appetising white wine that strikes the perfect balance between a southern character and a refreshing crispness. A yellow colour with golden highlights. A very expressive nose dominated by notes of white-fleshed fruit and citrus. Fresh and full-bodied on the palate. Floral and citrus (lemon) notes and a lovely balance that will work wonders as an aperitif accompanied by tapas, green tapenade and fresh goat’s cheese.
The estate
Acquired in 1870 by the Etienne family, Château La Dournie has long been a family-owned estate in Saint-Chinian, managed from mother to daughter for over six generations. Its most recent representative, Véronique Etienne, has now handed over the reins to a new team led by Noémie Vidil. The latter is continuing the work undertaken by the estate under organic farming (certification completed in 2017), preserving the spirit of La Dournie: wines that are neither too loud nor too ripe. Instead, they offer harmony and lightness, fruit and just the right concentration characteristic of schist soils.
