Col d'Orcia
Col d’Orcia literally means ‘the hill overlooking the river’. The vineyards of this prestigious estate are indeed planted on the slopes overlooking the Orcia, marking the south-western boundary of the Brunello di Montalcino region. The exceptional combination of soil and climate in this part of Montalcino enables the production of some of Italy’s finest wines. It is currently managed by Francesco Marone Cinzano.
An organic oasis in Tuscany
The estate has opted for organic viticulture, having decided in 2010 to put the entire estate through the organic certification process: the vineyards, groves, olive trees, fields and even the gardens are cultivated using exclusively organic methods. This makes Col d’Orcia the largest organic estate in Tuscany.
