Description
Benjamin Taillandier’s Minervois Bufentis offers an expressive nose of ripe black fruits, cocoa and a hint of spice. Despite its power, the wine retains a lovely fluidity; the texture is velvety, its richness balanced by a magnificent freshness, and the finish is mouth-watering.
The Bufentis cuvée
Benjamin Taillandier’s Bufentis cuvée is a blend of 50% Syrah and 50% Grenache. Schist soil for the Grenache and sandy soil for the Syrah. Organic and biodynamic farming. Natural vinification. Aged for 12 months in amphorae and casks.
In the vineyard, in the cellar
Starting from scratch, with nothing but his courage and convictions, Benjamin Taillandier aims to produce wines ‘the old-fashioned way’ and considers no other method of cultivation than organic (AB-certified since the 2011 vintage). His estate now covers 13 hectares spread across no fewer than 21 plots. He is committed to creating personal, artisanal wines and offers an alternative vision of the winemaker’s craft. His aim is to minimise human intervention as much as possible, both in terms of cultivation and winemaking. Alongside his friend and mentor Jean-Baptiste Sénat, he is a member of the winemakers’ collective “Changer l’Aude en Vin”.
