Description
Expressive, full-bodied and rich, Château La Brande’s Castillon stands out for its generosity and balance. Grown on the hillsides of Castillon, this wine is a proud representative of its appellation (Castillon Côtes de Bordeaux), with a blend of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.
In the vineyard, in the cellar
With the same care applied to the vineyard and the sorting of the harvest, Château La Brande is vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. A long, gentle vinification process allows the full richness of the tannins to be extracted, through pumping over and racking over a period of 25 to 30 days, before racking and pressing. Malolactic fermentation takes place in concrete vats to preserve all the fruit and freshness of this wine. The 12-month ageing period is deliberately divided into three batches: one-third in concrete vats, one-third in 400-litre barrels and one-third in 225-litre barrels, mainly using barrels aged 1, 2 and 3 years.
