Description
Château Landra’s Ventoux Les Boutières is a great wine that fully lives up to its reputation as a fine dining wine. Dense and fruity, powerful yet elegant, deep and supple, it is a complete wine with the potential to age beautifully. Its already complex bouquet is poised to continue developing: red fruits, spices, tobacco, liquorice, truffle and leather. The wine will be sustained for a long time by an elegant structure and a well-balanced framework. A great wine!
Solis Solique virtus Sola
‘The sole virtue of sun and soil’. This motto appeared, some hundred years ago, on the bottles of Château Landra. It recognised the estate’s pioneering role in the concept of respect for the terroir. Today, the wines are produced with the same philosophy.
In the vineyard, in the cellar
Château Landra’s 8.5 hectares of vineyards stretch out at the foot of Mont du Vaucluse on Quaternary alluvial soils. These consist of pebbles and gravel: clay-loam soils with limestone gravel. They benefit from exceptional sunshine (nearly 2,800 hours a year) and cool nights (due to the proximity of the Monts du Vaucluse). These specific climatic conditions allow the vines to achieve a fine physiological balance. Most of the vines are over 50 years old. Organic cultivation, hand-harvested.
Château Landra Les Boutières Ventoux is a blend of Grenache and Syrah. Vinified using indigenous yeasts, with no additives or sulphites. 40% undergoes carbonic maceration and 60% traditional vinification with a long vatting period to encourage slow and gradual extraction. Aged for 16 months in barrels (30% of which are new).
