The Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos from Domaine de l’Enclos is an iconic and historic wine. It comes from the finest vineyard in Chablis, overlooking the village. The wine displays a composed complexity, a pronounced mineral vigour and great length. Energetic and savoury, with a hint of saltiness, the fruit’s ripeness is perfectly balanced. Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos
Of the seven Climats within the Chablis Grand Cru appellation, Les Clos is by far the largest, covering nearly 26 hectares. With its 26 hectares, Les Clos is by far the most imposing Climat in the Chablis Grand Cru appellation. It stretches from bottom to top across the entire hillside and enjoys a south-west facing aspect. This exceptional terroir is therefore bathed in sunshine from midday until evening. This optimal sunshine, combined with a relatively steep slope, provides ideal ripening conditions. Very extensive, Les Clos has a multifaceted soil: the higher up you go, the more stony and limestone-rich it becomes. Towards the bottom, on the other hand, it is deeper and more clayey
