Description
The new Grenache vintage from Domaine Giroflet is crafted in the same spirit as the Cinsault, aiming to capture fruitiness, roundness and lightness. Stone fruits dominate the nose and palate, with a sensation of sweetness (though it’s just a sensation!). The balance is superb, combining generous aromas, a juicy attack, a supple palate and silky tannins. A lovely wine to accompany lasagne or a grilled veal cutlet.
The cuvée in detail:
- Vines planted on Villafranchian terraces facing south on a hillside
- Grapes harvested by hand at peak ripeness in small crates.
- Certified organic farming: no herbicides or synthetic pesticides
- Cold pre-fermentation maceration
- Punching down for 12 days.
- Aged for 6 months in stainless steel vats before early bottling in the spring
