Description
Luna & Gaia from Domaine Henri Milan is a truly indulgent wine. It develops lively aromas of citrus, marmalade, sage and jasmine. The maceration, carried out with restraint, is underpinned by just the right amount of tannic structure to preserve maximum vibrancy. Perfect with refined Asian cuisine or a selection of mature cheeses.
The label features the estate’s two dogs. Luna, the white Jack Russell—meaning ‘the moon’—and Gaia, the black Labrador—meaning ‘the Earth’. This reflects the duality of things such as black and white, yin and yang, the moon and the earth.
In the vineyard, in the cellar
Luna & Gaia is a blend of 40% Roussanne, 40% Vermentino, 10% Chardonnay and 10% Muscat, all organically grown. Clay-limestone soil over a subsoil of blue marl. Fermented with indigenous yeasts. Macerated for 30 days.
The estate
Henri Milan is a unique estate in the wine world: an OVNI (Unidentified Winemaker Origin). For Henri, who established the estate’s reputation, winemaking is not a matter of technique. It is more about naturally supporting what the vines offer, through organic and biodynamic methods. His son Théophile now continues the adventure, preserving the estate’s style and sensibility. The result is original, complex wines, each reflecting its terroir. A harmony whose finesse and texture often evoke Burgundy… but in Provence.
