Henri Milan S&X is a 100% Grenache cuvée that perfectly illustrates the distinctly Burgundian profile of the estate’s wines. The bouquet is a blend of crushed ripe strawberries and dark berries, complemented by a very subtle cocoa-like roasted note. The whole is underpinned by a minimalist yet precise structure that allows the wine’s juicy character to take centre stage. What finesse!
In the vineyard, in the cellar
Henri Milan S&X is a 100% Grenache Noir cuvée from a 1.2-hectare vineyard planted in 1992. A terroir of limestone scree, over a cool subsoil of blue marl. Hand-harvested. Yield: 45 hl/ha. Short maceration of 5 days with whole bunches, followed by racking into barrels. A brilliant inspiration from Sébastien, the cellar master. Certified organic.
The estate
Henri Milan is a unique estate in the wine world: an OVNI (Unidentified Winemaker Origin). For Henri, who established the estate’s reputation, winemaking is not a matter of technique. It is more about naturally supporting what the vines offer, through organic and biodynamic methods. His son Théophile now continues the adventure, preserving the estate’s style and sensibility. The result is original, complex wines, each reflecting its terroir. A harmony whose finesse and texture often evoke Burgundy… but in Provence.
