The Volnay Les Lurets from Domaine Huber-Verdereau is a wine of real character; a splendid 2020 vintage made for ageing. It boasts a slightly full-bodied aromatic complexity. Its intense concentration on the palate in no way detracts from its elegance. The palate is vibrant, with the power restrained by fine tannins: pure class!
In the vineyard, in the cellar
Certified organic and biodynamic cultivation. Use of compost in the vineyards, regular ploughing to maintain the soil. No synthetic products used, only Bordeaux mixture and herbal infusions (dandelion, nettle, horsetail, birch, etc.). Work carried out in accordance with the phases of the moon and certain planetary positions. Yields strictly controlled. Traditional winemaking methods.
57 ares of 74-year-old vines. Harvested exclusively by hand, in 50-litre crates. Double sorting of the harvest in the vineyard and in the winery on a sorting table. Cold pre-fermentation maceration for 3 days, followed by alcoholic fermentation without punching down or temperature control. Kept warm for 8 days. Vatting period: 22 days. Aged in barrels for 14 months.
