Description
A unique blend of two vineyards, Bruyères and Rosière, for this deliciously rich Trousseau d'Arbois from Lucien Aviet. The nose is, to say the least, alluring; fresh forest aromas, wild raspberries, sloes, a hint of spice (white pepper), and floral notes (violets, cornflowers). The attack on the palate is lively and vibrant, with fruit and minerality dominating. After a few sips, the wine gains in suppleness and complexity, and the structure settles. A few years in the cellar will be welcome.
In the vineyard, in the cellar
- Grape variety: 100% Trousseau
- Terroir: plots located in Les Bruyères (clay-limestone) and on the Rosières hillside, resting on a thick layer of clay with chailles (siliceous nodules mixed with decalcified clay), whose parent rock consists of a marly series known as the iridescent Keuper marls dating from the Triassic period (-240 to -201 Ma)
- AOP: Arbois.
- Cultivation method: Sustainable viticulture. Hand-harvested. Full destemming.
- Vinification and ageing: Indigenous yeasts. Fermentation of the musts in temperature-controlled vats, followed by one year’s ageing in large oak casks. No additives except for a light sulphiting.
