Description
The Crozes-Hermitage Les Galets from Domaine Les Hauts Châssis boasts a deep garnet colour with violet hues. The nose is intense and rich, blending aromas of red and black berries with hints of white pepper and spices. The attack is fresh and full-bodied, with dense, silky tannins. The structure is elegant and the texture supple. A marvellous, perfectly balanced wine with depth and length. A beautiful expression of Syrah that offers great pleasure and is extraordinarily ‘drinkable’. A marvellous wine to enjoy now, or to keep for 3–7 years.
In the vineyard, in the cellar

Organic farming. Franck Faugier completed the conversion to organic farming at his Les Hauts Châssis estate with the 2018 vintage. Vinification begins with a cold pre-fermentation maceration lasting 3 to 4 days (6°C). Alcoholic fermentation at 30°–32°C with pumping over and punching down. Hot maceration (30°C) for 12 to 20 days, followed by hot racking of the must into 2- to 6-year-old barrels. Malolactic fermentation in barrels. Aged for 12 months, then blended and bottled the following autumn.
