Description
The Moulin de Peyronin Romane red Bordeaux dazzles with its brilliant ruby colour and carmine-red highlights. A fruity nose blending Napoleon cherries and fresh plums, all enhanced by spicy notes of black pepper, cloves, blond tobacco and cedar. A wine that is round on the palate with smooth tannins, offering a lovely balance of freshness, with flavours of cherry, sandalwood and smoke. Splendid!
In the vineyard, in the cellar
The Moulin de Peyronin Romane red Bordeaux comes from a plot-selection of the estate’s old vines (60 years old): 60% Merlot, 30% Malbec, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes were harvested and sorted by hand to select the finest berries for this cuvée. In the vats, cold pre-fermentation maceration of the grapes allows the aromas and tannins to develop. Alcoholic fermentation takes place exclusively with indigenous yeasts in concrete vats at between 25 and 26°C. The Romane cuvée is then transferred to one-, two- or three-year-old barrels for the ageing phase, which lasts approximately 12 months.
What to eat with a Romane red Bordeaux from Moulin de Peyronin?
It is at its best with marbled red meats, such as a fine entrecôte à la Bordelaise. With game birds or a pan-fried mushroom dish, Romane will reveal its hidden side. Fancy some cheese? Opt for an uncooked pressed cheese.
