Description
This red Mâcon Igé from Nicolas Maillet comes from an old Gamay vineyard cultivated using organic methods. The wine displays a sparkling fruitiness, with intense aromas of blackberries, strawberries and wild raspberries. The attack on the palate is both supple and lively, with well-integrated tannins. A lovely, flavourful and indulgent wine that bears the signature of Nicolas Maillet.
In the vineyard, in the cellar
The vineyard is maintained using organic farming methods (AB certification monitored by Ecocert) and biodynamic practices (Demeter certification). Particular attention is paid to soil management, with the elimination of chemical herbicides and regular ploughing throughout the year to encourage deep root development in the vines. This also helps maintain significant microbiological activity within the soil. The grapes are harvested by hand using small crates to ensure the grapes remain as intact as possible.
