Les Chemins de l’Arkose
Banlieue Rouge
2022

15.00

"Banlieue Rouge is a cuvée from Les Chemins de l'Arkose, born out of solidarity amongst Auvergne’s winegrowers. A true social glue for the countryside, this wine is made from plots of vines tended by small-scale farmers. A blend of Gamay d’Auvergne (80%), Syrah (15%) and Aligoté (5%), produced with conviction whilst respecting nature and people. Biodynamic, natural vinification without additives or filtration. The result is a tangy fruitiness reminiscent of cherry and raspberry. The straightforward, full-bodied palate is wrapped in floral notes (peony). This cuvée captivates with its splendid energy. A real stunner!"

In the vineyard, in the cellar

Organic farming (certified by Ecocert in 2010). No synthetic chemicals, plant-based treatments, adherence to the lunar calendar and a return to traditional soil cultivation are the main principles guiding work in the vineyards. Indigenous yeasts.

The winemaker tells you

“Seeing what the vines have to offer: that’s what drives my work. Each plot produces a different cuvée. The eight hectares of my estate are spread across the communes of Montpeyroux, La Sauvetat, Authezat, Corent and Boudes. The entire estate switched to organic farming (certified by Ecocert) in 2010. No synthetic chemicals, plant-based treatments, adherence to the lunar calendar and a return to traditional soil cultivation are the main focuses in the vineyards. Respect for indigenous yeasts, and maceration and ageing tailored to each cuvée are the guiding principles in the cellar.”
