Description
Maxime Magnon’s Corbières Rozeta is a juicy, vibrant and utterly delicious wine. Aromas of red berries, rose and pepper intertwine with rare elegance. The Burgundian origins and the Beaujolais style are reflected in the delicacy and fruitiness of this unusual cuvée. A natural wine that is extremely
easy to drink without ever losing its Mediterranean character.
In the vineyard
Maxime Magnon tends his vines in the communes of Villeneuve-les-Corbières, Durban and Cascastel. These magnificent terroirs of the Vallée du Paradis are predominantly clay-limestone and schist. Work is carried out mainly by hand and using a crawler tractor. Strict organic farming and biodynamic practices: no use of plant protection products. Sheep and cows graze in the vineyards during the winter, following the example of his illustrious neighbour Didier Barral. This helps to promote microbial life in the soil, whilst also reducing unnecessary ploughing and limiting soil compaction.
In the cellar
Maxime Magnon’s Corbières Rozeta is a blend of almost equal parts Carignan, Cinsault and Grenache. Hand-harvested into small crates. Whole-bunch fermentation at low temperature, using indigenous yeasts and without sulphur. Vinification then continues in the traditional manner with some punching down. Aged in oak barrels and bottled without fining or filtration. A homeopathic dose of sulphur is added where necessary.
