Description
The 2016 vintage of this Dolia cuvée from the Arretxea estate is an exceptional wine from Irouleguy. It is predominantly made from Tannat, vinified and aged for eight months in dolias. These are 400-litre terracotta jars (made from Basque clay) manufactured by Goicoechea. The 2016 vintage has now reached maturity: it combines fruitiness that is as close as possible to the original fruit with developments of great elegance. Notes of undergrowth, a subtle roasted quality, plenty of freshness and an incredible length. An essential sensory experience for any serious wine lover, which will be enhanced by game in sauce or a fine cut of matured meat.

Dolia
The dolia is a terracotta jar designed and crafted in collaboration with the Goïcoechea pottery in Osses, alongside Luc de Conti of Château Tour des Gendres in Bergerac. These winemaking and ageing experiments bring together two passions centred on the land, all in the service of wine.
