Description

The Gaillac Anthocyanes from Domaine de Brin is a charming, lively, juicy and flavourful wine. Initial aromas of wild strawberries blend with the graphite notes of the Braucol and the spicy notes of the Syrah. A pure delight, very crisp on a light structure that ensures the wine is easy to drink.

In the vineyard

  • 70% Braucol and 30% Syrah
  • Clay-limestone soil, south-facing, altitude 290m
  • Natural grass cover and sowing of green manure between the rows during the winter, with shallow tillage before the summer heat
  • Multiple manual and mechanical operations throughout the year to ensure the grapes are well-aerated, healthy and fully ripe
  • Pruning, debudding and suckering according to Poussard principles, respecting the vine’s sap flow

In the cellar

  • Manual harvesting of the grapes according to the optimal ripeness of the different grape varieties. To achieve balance (ideal sugar-acidity-solids ratio)
  • Stems are removed so that only the grape berries are vinified
  • Spontaneous fermentation using indigenous yeasts
  • Maceration by simple infusion with minimal pumping over (no manual punching down). Vatting for approximately 10 days. No excessive temperatures during fermentation
  • Aged half in concrete vats and half in oak casks for greater roundness and complexity
  • Natural clarification without fining
  • The wine is aged without sulphur; very low sulphiting is applied before bottling without filtration
