Description
The Muscadet sur Lie Clos des Briords from Domaine de la Pépière is produced on the slopes of the Maine. Only three hectares of old vines, over 60 years old, are selected for this cuvée. The result is a vibrant wine, endowed with a wonderful briny energy, bursting with citrus flavours and carried by a lovely, invigorating liveliness.
In the vineyard, in the cellar
This wine comes from granitic subsoil (Château-Thébaud GRANITE). The soil is well-drained, combining gravel, sand and clay in ideal proportions
The grapes are harvested by hand and transported to the cellar with great care. The pneumatic press is filled by gravity; the grapes are not crushed. Fermentation takes place in underground vats, naturally (without the addition of yeast or sugar) for around a month. This cuvée remains on its lees for seven months, without racking.
