Description
The white Maranges from Domaine Les Rouges-Queues comes from a 26-are micro-plot of young vines cultivated using biodynamic methods. A natural wine gently fermented in vats, then in barrels previously used for other wines for malolactic fermentation and a 10-month ageing period. The nose is filled with white flowers (hawthorn, acacia, honeysuckle) and subtle notes of flint,
imparted by a soil of clay and gravel. A natural, delicate wine that truly reflects its terroir.
The estate
Isabelle and Jean-Yves Vantey established their Domaine des Rouges Queues in 1998 in the southern part of the Côte de Beaune. They cultivate around 6 hectares around the small village of Sampigny-Les-Maranges. Their philosophy is to allow the Maranges terroir to express itself through authentic wines. To achieve this, they practise certified organic and biodynamic cultivation, alongside gentle, natural winemaking methods that respect the work done in the vineyards.
