Description
The Côtes du Rhône Grin-Galets red from Vignerons d'Estézargues displays lovely ripeness and good concentration, yet remains very well-balanced on the palate. The aromatic profile features red fruits (cherry) and dark fruits (plum, blackberry), with lovely spicy notes on the finish. The fruit is rich and indulgent, the palate full-bodied, framed by fine tannins: the balance is spot on. It’s a flawless wine at this price point!
In the vineyard, in the cellar
- Grape varieties: Grenache, Cinsault, Carignan
- Age of vines: 25 years
- Soil: rounded pebbles on a clay base
- Yields: 40 to 45 hl/ha
- Vinification: traditional at low temperature. Vatting for 15 days, following destemming and gentle crushing
The winegrowers of Estézargues
There are around ten winegrowers in the Estézargues group, united under a ‘pilot’ cooperative winery, with each winegrower retaining their own production, identity and working methods. Founded in 1965, the winery is situated a stone’s throw from Lirac.
The Vignerons d’Estézargues have committed to responsible viticulture and have been vinifying without additives
for over twenty years, using spontaneous fermentation (native yeasts
), without fining or filtration. The wines beautifully reflect their terroir with varied expressions and exceptional value for money.
