The Combel La Serre estate is located in Saint-Vincent-Rive-d’Olt, 17 km from Cahors. The vineyard now comprises 26 hectares of vines on the Cournou plateaus, at an altitude of 300 metres, planted mainly in clay-limestone soil. Château de Combel la Serre has been a family-owned estate since 1901. As a mixed-farming estate, it supplied grapes to the cooperative winery for many years. In 1998, Jean-Pierre Ilbert, Julien’s father, decided to leave the cooperative and start making his own wines. Five years later, his son joined him at the estate.
