Description
La Vigne du Facteur is an incredibly indulgent wine, organically grown and vinified using natural methods. Its creator is Serge Scherrer
, a former Alsatian postman who came to settle in the Cévennes. The colour is quite deep with lovely purple highlights. With its full-bodied and juicy palate, this wine gives the sensation of biting into the fruit. It is incredibly
enjoyable and easy
to drink: you simply cannot miss it!
A natural approach that showcases the terroir
La Vigne du Facteur from the Agarrus estate is a blend of Grenache (65%), Syrah (25%), Carignan (5%) and Tempranillo (5%). Clay-limestone terroir on hillsides, bordering the garrigue in the commune of Vallabrix, 7 km north of Uzès in the Gard. The vineyard is managed without weedkillers, chemical fertilisers or synthetic products. Only sulphur, copper sulphate and a few herbal infusions (nettle, horsetail, dandelion flower, etc.) and essential oils are used.
The grapes are harvested by hand into small crates and undergo an initial sorting in the vineyard. The grapes are 100% destemmed, placed in vats and vinified exclusively with indigenous yeasts. The grape varieties are vinified separately in stainless steel vats, plot by plot. Fermentation takes place at a low temperature (around 17°C) with daily pumping over and punching down to gently extract colour and tannins.
