Description
The Elia cuvée from the Charlot Tanneux estate is a vintage Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru Champagne. A delightful hint of minerality ensures the freshness of a generous palate with exotic notes.
In the vineyard, in the cellar
produces a 100% Chardonnay Premier Cru Champagne under the estate’s original name, Charlot Tanneux. The vines are sourced from Pierry, a Grand Cru area with predominantly clay
soils. Vinified in oak barrels for 11 months. Exclusively indigenous yeasts. No malolactic fermentation, no fining, no filtration, no additives. Champagne made exclusively from the 2013 harvest. Extra brut dosage (4.5g). Disgorged in late 2019.
The winemaker
is an unconventional and fascinating Champagne
winemaker based in Mardeuil, a stone’s throw from Épernay. He works organically, but above all biodynamically, on a multitude of small plots around Épernay. Passionate and inexhaustible, he makes his own compost and preparations and grows most of the plants he uses himself. For over 15 years, he has been carrying out exceptional work to revitalise the soil, fauna and flora. His wines are the very expression of this vital energy that many winemakers, journalists and researchers come to admire.
